About

Melissa Flint has a background in organic farming, conservation biology, permaculture and environmental education. Melissa has love for mountain air and exploration. As a biologist, she spent much of her time counting grass, identifying trees and slogging through creeks, meadows and forests all across BC.

She also has a passion for connecting people to the food that they eat. She has worked in market gardens and homesteads in Canada, Hawaii and Rwanda.  She has a Diploma of Permaculture in the fields of Education, Childhood Education, Site Design and Development from the Permaculture Institute.

She is currently the Creston Outdoor Educator for Wildsight and teaches a variety of hands-on, place-based programs for elementary and high school students. She is also an educator for Columbia Basin Environmental Educators Network’s Wild Voices for Kids.

Melissa is the Project Director-Coordinator for Wildsight Creston Valley Branch. She does conservation research and advocacy, water monitoring and public engagement for Wildsight Creston Valley Branch.
